Bartram's Scrub-Hairstreak Butterfly

This tiny, critically endangered butterfly from the South Florida+ Keys region faces many ecosystem challenges (pesticides, habitat loss from overdevelopment, etc.) and is entirely reliant on one host plant: the pineland croton. The most amazing physical characteristics of this little guy is that it has a "fake" face on the other side of it's body to fool predators into biting it's wing instead of it's head!
